Why Caravan Holidays Are So Popular

Caravan holidays in the UK are increasing in popularity in recent times, and it isn´t hard to see why this trend has come about.
In scenes reminiscent of British holidays in days gone by, families are descending on campsites across the country for their summer holidays as an alternative to jetting abroad.
Since the credit crunch hit, families have had to tighten purse strings and cut out luxuries and for many, this includes foreign travel. Thankfully, most people haven´t had to cut their annual holiday out altogether, and have realized the benefits of holidaying within the UK.
Caravan holidays are great because they pose none of the potential hassles of a European holiday. Who hasn´t had to rise at a ridiculous time in the morning in order to catch a flight? Having just two hours´ sleep in order to catch your flight generally renders the first day of your holiday a write-off, whereas taking a break in a caravan in the UK means you can make your own way to your destination at your own pace, and get up out of be popular when you´re good and ready to and not before!
Another great thing about caravan holidays is that the whole family can go and enjoy themselves, because you can take your pet dog along too. Children will love the adventure of living in a caravan for a week, and caravan sites will always be full of other children to make friends with.
Money-saving
Caravan holidays are cheap in comparison to foreign holidays for a number of reasons. A couple of years ago, the Euro gained in strength against the pound, which means that it´s now expensive to buy food and drink in Europe, whereas before it was markedly cheaper than here in the UK. The rise in the cost of living means that you will end up spending a lot more over the course of your holiday.
Secondly, flights aren´t so cheap nowadays, and even if you do manage to secure some bargain flights, some people are afraid of using airlines in case they go out of business and they end up having to fork out for further flights in order to return home again.
Another string to caravans´ money-saving bow is the fact that they are self-catering accommodation, meaning that the cost of living can be relatively cheap. You can even bring food you already have at home with you to the site to cook during your stay.
