And, we got to enjoy a nice evening at home with our kids. Find a dinner that everyone enjoys and make that - pick one that you don´t make all that often and it will be even more special. And for dessert, make a tasty treat - heart-shaped cookies are always a hit, or a scrumptious cheesecake with cherry or strawberry topping that suits the holiday.
  • Have a movie night. Either go out to the theater or rent a good one to watch at home. A romantic comedy is a good choice for Valentines Day if you are watching it as a couple. If your kids will be watching with you, choose a good family movie that you all will like. You can have dessert as you watch the movie or make a big bowl of family size popcorn.
  • Have young kids? A fun option for what to do on Valentines Day is to make gifts or cards for each other and then hand them out after dinner. Kids love this and it doesn´t cost any money if you are making the cards and gifts.
