What Theme Will You Use When Planning Your Yard Outside Christmas Lights Display

Christmas Decorations Bubbles Glass Stars For Christmas Tree

If you are going to be putting outside Christmas lights up in your yard this year, one of the things you will need to consider what you want it all to look like. There are many different themes that people use when thinking of outdoor Christmas lights display. We will look at a few, such as winter wonderland, Santa´s grotto, Reindeer feeding, nativity and some others.

Winter Wonderland

This has to be the most common theme, lots of fairy lights in the snow, over trees all around the yard. It looks absolutely spectacular on a frosty, slightly misty night. Although white Christmas lights are the most common, this can work well with blue. The kinds of sets you could use would be icicle outdoor Christmas lights or outdoor solar Christmas lights or outdoor LED Christmas lights. The choice of bulb size (C7 or C9 and the type of globe), LED (color changing LED´s is a cool effect) or solar will change the overall effect so be sure to check out what´s available. Illuminated Christmas trees will fit in very well with this scenario, they come in a wire style or spiral; and can be one color or multi-colored. There are some great large twinkling snowflakes available.

Santa´s grotto

Another very popular Christmas theme. You can have lots of fun with this, multi-colored lights perhaps with music, outdoor animated Christmas lights for Santa or snowmen, stars, candy canes, a sleigh with Santa and the reindeer. Holographic scenes from the north pole may fit in with this theme.

Reindeer farm

This theme can include animated reindeer in various poses within a stable or field, with plenty of lights around, maybe a Santa and sleigh and of course Rudolph.

Nativity

Based around Mary and Jesus in a stable with shepherds, kings and angels. There is plenty of scope to choose which characters to include. There are displays available for characters such as illuminated kings or angels and of course the star. Stable silhouettes are available to set the scene, I have also seen illuminated camel shapes and donkeys. There are a number of different styles the illuminated shapes have they can be outline or holographic.

Other themes could be a landing strip for Santa to land the sleigh, I have seen some displays where the front of yard is set up like an airport landing strip coming towards the roof for Santa to land upon. Or Penguins partying, there are inflatable penguins and snowmen to help with this theme.

You may decide to be non-seasonal, going for lighting that fits your climate, maybe palm trees of cherry trees.

Whatever theme appeals to you, check out the amazing array of different shapes that are available to help set your scene
