What Is The Reason For Giving Gifts Around The Holidays?

In our society today, we give gifts during a number of occasions, such as celebrations, birthdays, and any other event that takes place during a person´s lifetime. All of these are fun opportunities to spend with family and friends. However, one does have to consider the reason why presents are bestowed upon during the holidays. The most common is with Christmas because of having a tree that is decorated with ornaments, houses with lights and candy as well as food for everyone to enjoy.

The reason why gifts are bestowed upon others is for a number of reasons. One, people everywhere are celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. His coming to earth was a unique time in history, so that others could come and know Him as Lord of their life, and He still reigns today. Two, since he was born around the Christmas season, this is our chance to show love to those we care so deeply in our about from the bottom of our heart. This means giving to them something that they may want or need because of Christ´s example to us long ago. Three, by following His example, we are then able to make a positive impact in the lives of those around us. Who knows maybe one day they will want to do the same as well when they have a family in the future.

Gifts are apart of every Christmas tradition during the holidays. They inspire and enrich our friendship with those we love so dearly. In the end, unity arises and people grow closer together during these wonderful times, which makes giving gifts so worthwhile.
