Holiday Quick Clean Ups

Santa Presents

Friends and family stopping over unexpectedly? A quick pick up and freshening can have your kitchen looking like you've cleaned all day.

Unexpected guests during the holidays is almost inevitable at least once during the season. Often times the kitchen is the gathering place. If you're lucky enough to get a little advanced warning you can be ready for the crowd with little effort.

If your house SMELLS clean, people will perceive it to be. It's human nature. The first thing a person smells when they enter your house can be a mind set. Here are a few tips on how to score 100% in this department.

Unclutter your counters. Have some of that orange furniture polish under your sink? Spray your counters and rub in. It will make them shine like new and bring back the richness that was there when you first got them. Make sure you rub it in well, reducing the risk of streaks.

Got stainless appliances? Use it on them too. Forget those polishing pastes. Make sure you wipe all fingerprints and dirt off, then spray and shine..shine..shine! Make sure you go with the grain when polishing.

Spritz your sink with that bleach cleaner you have under the sink. Let it sit for a couple of minutes. Watch those coffee stains disappear before your eyes. Wipe clean and freshness is in the air. Don't forget to polish the faucet with the orange polish too. Light your favorite candle and don't worry about the floor. They won't even notice. When selecting a candle try to have a scent that compliments your cleaning supplies such as citrus or linen.

These quick clean-up tips give you the extra time to RELAX and not have to worry so much about that surprise visit during the holidays. It happens to all of us, but take it in stride and enjoy yourself more this season!
