Despite the recession, going on holiday still remains one of the Brits top priorities. A survey that was carried out recently showed that 80% of the British public would consider going on holiday for a period of 10 to 14 days. What´s more, 71% of British households consider going as a "must-have" household expense.

The tailor-made holiday industry have also suffered from the recession. However, with the Pound a four month high against the Euro, the UK economy seems to have begun its recovery. It is also hoped that the tourism economy and the tailor-made holiday industry in particular will follow that recovery.

Tailor made holidays are customisable package holidays. The customer can select the flight, the hotel and the type of break they want. What´s more the customer wishing to go on a tailor made holiday can also combine several different packages in order to enjoy various resorts or different types of holidays.

Some travel companies that specialise in tailor-made holidays, will for example offer a package that combines a stay in South Africa and a stay in Botswana. Alternatively, it is also possible to combine a city-break with a beach holiday.

Tailor made holidays are often specialised high end of the market products. The kind of vacation available ranges from luxury holidays to diving holidays and from skiing holidays to city breaks. This type of holiday is therefore fully customisable. The customer can adapt the holiday to what they want to do and what they want to see, as well as being able to select the hotel they want to stay in and the flight they want to take.
