Don´t you just love Spring? From a gray winter, this new season ushers in a burst of life and a riot of the brightest colors. It refreshes the spirit and inspires you to be youthful and free. Of course, this season also brings in Easter - the perfect occasion to celebrate life!

But what exactly are the celebrations for? And why on earth are there egg-laying bunnies hopping around? For starters, as a religious event, Easter is celebrated by Christians to mark Jesus Christ´s resurrection from the dead on the third day after his crucifixion. This symbolized Christ´s triumph over death. And Christians, through faith in Jesus, are spiritually resurrected with him and walk with him in a new way of life.

In modern days, Easter is now celebrated by both Christians and non-Christians alike. And new elements like the Easter bunny and Easter egg hunts have became a part of the holiday´s celebrations. This is because bunnies and eggs symbolize fertility: birds lay eggs and rabbits give birth to large litters in the early Spring. It´s all about celebrating new life!

This one´s a little hard to find, but you may also want to consider a stuffed lamb, especially among Christian families because Jesus Christ is often referred to as the Lamb of God.

As for the Easter eggs, choose ones that can be filled with fun small stuff to surprise your little one. Be sure to be around her when she opens this! You can fill it with some jelly beans if she can already take solids or little trinkets like baby charm bracelets or baby hair clips.

If she loves story time, another fun baby gift are story books! As it is a religious occasion, a popular choice would be books with stories adapted from the Bible. Or those that teach her important life values. Make sure the books are illustrated and colorful so that your baby has plenty to look at!
